DOMINO AND DB2


Supported platforms and hardware and software requirements
Pre-Domino 7 releases cannot use Query Views, as well as some Designer features for DB2 Access Views. Any version of the Notes C-API program that can access the DB2 enabled Domino server can also access Notes databases stored in DB2.

Limited Availability

Domino with DB2 is released with Limited Availability, as such, it is not available for general usage.

To enable Domino 7 with DB2, use the "DB2 key" that allows access to Domino 7 with DB2. For Microsoft Windows platforms, use NDB2KEY.DLL; for IBM AIX platforms, use libdb2key_r.a.

Add the DB2 key to the Domino Program directory. The default Domino Program directory on Microsoft Windows is C:\Program Files\Lotus\Domino; the default Domino Program directory on IBM AIX is /opt/lotus/ibm.

Note Shared mail is not supported for a DB2 server. The recommended method of installation is to create a new DB2-enabled Domino server and replicate to DB2. If an existing server is upgraded to a DB2-enabled Domino server, the shared mail linked mail files need be unlinked prior to the upgrade.
