• If the computer on which you are upgrading runs anti-virus software, close the application.
• If you are upgrading Lotus Notes on an Apple computer running OS X, turn off all options in the Application Sharing tab of the Shared System Preferences panel to avoid any errors.
• To successfully install, upgrade, and use Lotus Notes 7, users must be allowed both Write and Modify permissions to the Program directory, Data directory, and all associated subdirectories.
• If you are upgrading Lotus Notes on a Windows 2000, or XP computer, you must have administrator rights to the system. On a Windows 2000 computer, log in as an administrator or set administrator-level privileges for All Users. This can be done from the command line.
• Windows 2000 and XP users should log onto their computers with administrative rights to install Lotus Notes 7. For cases in which administrative rights are not available, enable the setting "Always install with elevated privileges." The setting "Always install with elevated privileges" is a Windows setting that is part of Window's User Policies. Refer to your Microsoft Windows documentation for details. Refer to the Release Notes for the most current information on permissions required when installing as a non-administrator.
