REFERENCE

FT_Domain_IdXthdsS
Syntax: FT_Domain_IdXthds=number of threads

Description: Specifies the number of indexing threads to use for Domain Search. Using more threads lets the Domain Catalog server index more files simultaneously, but requires more CPU utilization, and response to search queries may be slow. With fewer indexing threads, search speeds up because of greater CPU availability, but changes are not reflected in the index as quickly.

Applies to: Servers

Default: None, although if this setting is omitted, the default number of threads used is two per CPU. For example, a server with two CPUs uses four indexing threads by default when indexing. Do not exceed eight threads per server or you may degrade the performance of the server, even on servers with more than four CPUs.

UI equivalent: None
