DOMINO AND DB2

Setting up DB2 on Microsoft Windows
During DB2 server setup, Domino's administration process updates the Server document and the NOTES.INI file with information that you provide. DB2 installation creates the DB2 database but does not include any DB2 configuration, such as creating accounts, which is done separately. For more information about the DB2 key, contact your IBM representative.

Before you run the DB2 Setup wizard, set up one user account at the operating system level that you will use to install DB2. This DB2 installation user account must have Administrator rights and must adhere to the DB2 naming rules.

For information about the DB2 installation account, see Creating the DB2 installation account.

For detailed DB2 installation instructions, go to the DB2 Information Center http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/db2help/index.jsp.

Transaction Logging

As previously mentioned, transaction logging must be enabled on the Domino server before you install DB2. Ensure that you have enabled transaction logging. On the Server document on which you enable transaction logging, set the Log file size to at least 192 MB.
