MONITORING

Resolving an event
When you open an Event document in the Domino Domain Monitor database, you can review the Probable Cause and Possible Solution statements. In many cases, there is a Choose Solution button that you can use to automatically implement a particular solution to resolve an event. When you click Choose Solution, and there are multiple possible solutions that can be automated, a list of automated solutions appears. This list may contain all possible solutions or it may contain a subset of possible solutions -- only those that can be automated. It is important to consider all possible solutions, whether automated or not automated.

If only one automated solution is available, when you click Choose Solution, that solution is implemented.

1. From the Domino Administrator, click Files.

2. Open the Domino Domain Monitor database (DDM.NSF).

3. Choose the view that you want to open.

4. Open the Event document for the event that you want to resolve.

5. Review the Probable Cause and Possible Solution statements, and then click Choose Solution.

6. Select the automated solution that you want to implement, and then click OK.

How resolved problems are handled

Probes decide when their DDM events should be cleared, and for the most part clear them individually.

Use the Domino Domain Monitor to view, resolve and close current problems. You also have the option of viewing recent events. Use the Recent Events tab to view detailed information including fields that indicate the event's worst status in the past 24 hours, week, and month. These views are updated daily as needed.
