Setting a border style, effect, and thickness
You can customize the style, effect, and thickness of the border that surrounds your table, paragraph, or graphic. To do so:

1. Put the document in Edit mode.

2. Do one of the following:

3. Click the Table Borders, Paragraph Border, or Picture Border tab.

4. Follow the procedures in the following table to customize your borders.

Note The following procedures also apply to the Borders tab in the Text Properties and the Picture Properties infoboxes.

Set border style and thickness
  1. In the "Border style" section, choose a border style.
  2. Below the "Border effects" section, choose "Thickness" in the menu.
  3. Adjust border thickness in appropriate border location field (Top, Bottom, Left, Right) to see results.

Note To change all sides at once, click the larger arrows to the far right of the border locations.
Set border colorIn the "Border style" section, choose a color in the Color field.

Note You can customize colors by using the color wheel button in the top right corner of the Color box. Color wheel

Set a dropped shadow
  1. In the "Border effects" section, select "Drop shadow."
  2. Adjust the size of the shadow in the Width field.
Set spacing between the inside table border and the outside table border
  1. Below the "Border effects" section, choose "Inside" in the menu.
  2. Adjust amount of space in appropriate border location field (Top, Bottom, Left, Right).

Note To change all sides at once, click the arrows to the far right of the border locations.
Set spacing between the table border and text or elements outside the table
  1. Below the "Border effects" section, choose "Outside" in the menu.
  2. Adjust amount of space in appropriate border location field (Top, Bottom, Left, Right).
