Connecting to a Lotus Sametime server
Note The features described in this topic are available only if your company has an IBM Lotus Sametime server, and only for Windows versions of IBM Lotus Notes.

There are several technologies (or protocols) that allow Notes and the Lotus Sametime server to communicate. During Notes setup, you configure your instant messaging settings, which apply to all locations. In most cases you can accept the defaults. You can always add or change these settings for a location, even if you deselected "Setup instant messaging" during setup.
