To open a database from a list of servers
If you cannot remember the full name of a server, you can look at a list of servers that are located on the local area network. Only servers you have previously accessed are listed in your Server list.

1. Choose File - Database - Open.

2. Select a server from the list of available servers, and then click OK. Select Other to see a larger list of servers if you do not see the server you need from the list.

Tip

In the Server field, you can use the type-ahead feature if you have previously accessed the server you are opening. Type the first letter or two of the server name. Notes automatically selects the first server name beginning with those letters.

3. Select a database from the list of available databases on the server.

In the list of databases, you can use the type-ahead feature. Type the first letter or two of the database or folder name. Notes automatically selects the first database or folder name beginning with those letters.

4. Click Open.

Tip You can select a server's database catalog (itself a database) and see the database titles on that server. Choose File - Database - Open, select a server, and scroll down the list of databases until you see a catalog (CATALOG.NSF). Then double-click the catalog.

Macintosh users
On the Macintosh, folder names might include spaces, and directories are separated by colons (:). In the Filename field, you'd enter:

Sales!!My Folder:mywork.nsf
