Replicate dialog box
Use the Replicate dialog box to initiate replication. You can leave the default "Replicate via background Replicator" selected to let replication occur out of sight while you continue working. Or you can temporarily modify the options this database uses to replicate for a single replication, such as the server to replicate with and the size of documents to receive in the local replica. Replicating with options occurs in the foreground; you cannot continue working with Notes until replication is completed.

If the Replicate dialog box is not open, open the database you want to replicate and choose File - Replication - Replicate.

When you ask Notes to replicate a database, Notes starts replicating when you click OK, if you already have a local replica. If you don't, Notes prompts you for an operating system path on which to store the new replica, creates it, and adds an entry for the replica to the Replicator page.

Tip To do other work while you replicate, you can replicate a database in the background with the Replicator page. The Replicator page also provides additional ways to replicate, for example, you can replicate multiple databases at one time.

To change the way this database replicates temporarily

1. Select "Replicate with options."

2. Click OK.

3. (Optional) Select a different server to replicate with.

4. Do one or both of the following:

5. (Optional) If you select "Receive documents from server," you can specify a shortening option: 6. Click OK to replicate. You can resume working in Notes when replication completes.
